About Covid-19 Restrictions & Test
Before Traveling to Ethiopia
All travelers have to have a Negative PCR covid-19 test result. The test will be valid under 120 hours / 5 days since the test sample was collected.
Please print the result and make it handy before you are going to the airport.
Before Traveling to the United States

Testing – ALL Travelers
Before boarding a flight to the United States, you are required to show a negative COVID-19 test result taken no more than 1 day before travel. There is also an option for people who have documented recovery from COVID-19 in the past 90 days.
Children under 2 years old do not need to test.

About Travel Documents and Visa Processing
Tourist visa is an electronic single-entry visa issued by the Ethiopian Government for visitors who wish to travel to the country for tourism or other non-business related purposes only.
Eligibility
Citizens of all countries in the globe are eligible for tourist visa provided that the below requirements are fulfilled.
Requirements
Copy of the following documents is mandatory.
- Recent passport-size photo of the applicant.
- Passport of the visa applicant which is valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of entry to Ethiopia.
Processing Time
Under normal circumstances, the processing time for tourist visa is 3 days. So, travelers should submit their application at least 3 days before their estimated date of arrival
Duration and Validity
Single entry tourist visa is valid up to 90 days starting from the intended date of arrival in Ethiopia. If arrival date of the travelers is changed, travelers should contact the e-Visa Support Team at Support@evisa.gov.et to adjust validity period of their visa.
Extension
Travelers can request for extension before the visa expires by going in person to the Head Office of The Immigration, Nationality and Vital Events Agency (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia). Travelers who stay beyond the validity period without extending are subject to fines and legal penalties.

Addis Ababa

Gonder City
Gondar is situated at 12.60 latitude and 37.47 longitude at an elevation of 2201 meters above sea level. Gondar is also known as the “Camelot” of Africa, nestled in the foothills of the breathtaking Semien Mountains National Park. Gondar was the 17th and 18th-century capital city of Ethiopia, which was founded by Emperors Fasiladas (1632 – 1667). It was home to a number of emperors & warlords, curtsies and kings who built several castles and palaces in the area.
Bahir Dar
Bahir Dar is situated on Lake Tana, which is dotted with island monasteries some dating back to the 14th century. Its 30 odd islands represent today a unique natural habitat for plant life. The Blue Nile Falls are a waterfall on the Blue Nile River in Ethiopia. They are situated on the upper course of the river, about 30 kilometers downstream from the town of BahirDar and Lake Tana.
